GOP lawmaker booed, interrupted at Md. town hall
Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) received fierce opposition at his first town hall since President Trump’s inauguration.
The House Freedom Caucus member struggled to keep control of the crowd at Chesapeake College on Friday, with protesters booing him over a wide range of political issues.
{mosads}According to CNN, the topics addressed during the event included ObamaCare, border security and funding for Planned Parenthood.
Harris was booed minutes into the event and was subsequently interrupted by the crowd throughout.
“If you take time doing this, it’s less time for questions,” Harris said as he attempted to calm the angry crowd.
The three-term congressman did not waver on his policy stances, reiterating his positions on government and healthcare.
“We need to turn [healthcare] back to the states so the states make the decisions on what’s best for their patients,” he said.
