Ex-Army colonel: I’ve never been so concerned about US, world

Former Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson says that he has never been as concerned about the state of this country as he is today.

Wilkerson, who also served as chief of staff to former Secretary of State Colin Powell, on Saturday said world relations are more concerning today than they were during some of the most tumultuous periods of recent U.S. history.
{mosads}”I’ve been through the Cuban missile crisis, I’ve been through the Bay of Pigs before that, Vietnam War, the two Iraq wars and so forth,” Wilkerson told MSNBC.

“And I’ve got to tell you, though, I’ve never been so concerned, as I am now, for the state of this country and world relations.”

The former colonel’s comments come amid growing tensions with North Korea, and as President Trump dropped a massive bomb in Afghanistan and airstrikes in Syria.

Relations with Russia have also noticeably declined in recent months, despite President Trump’s campaign pledge to try to “get along” with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Both Putin and Trump have publicly remarked of late that the relationship between the two nations is flagging.
