President Trump posted a video to Twitter on Friday highlighting the release of Aya Hijazi, an Egyptian-American aid worker who spent 3 years in a Cairo prison.
The 2-minute clip played to “God Bless the USA” opens with a news article article about the prisoner release and displays photos from the Friday event showing Trump greeting the aid worker in the Oval Office.
“On behalf of the Trump administration and the United States of America, welcome home Aya Hijazi,” reads text in the video.

Hijazi returned to the U.S. late Thursday after the Trump administration negotiated behind the scenes to secure her release, along with that of her husband Mohamed Hassanein and four other humanitarian workers.
The couple and the others were jailed in 2014 on charges of trafficking and child abuse. The charges, which human rights groups and U.S. officials considered false, were dropped Sunday. That came after a meeting between Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi earlier this month, after which Trump had called Sisi a “fantastic” leader.
“We are very happy to have Aya back home, and it’s a great honor to have her in the Oval Office,” Trump said earlier on Friday.
