Ingraham: Dems want to put Yates ‘on Mt. Rushmore’
Conservative commentator Laura Ingraham said Tuesday that “Democrats want to put Sally Yates up on Mt. Rushmore” after her Monday testimony about former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
“We don’t know much right now except that the Democrats want to put Sally Yates up on Mt. Rushmore,” Ingraham said of the former acting attorney general on “Fox & Friends.”
{mosads}“Or, they want to erect statues of her in the places of all the Confederate soldiers being pulled down, down South.”
“She’s the heroine of the moment still,” said Ingraham, a Fox News contributor. “But I maintain that we have learned very little, except that the Democrats desperately wanted to find a connection between the Trump campaign and Russia and have come up empty.
“Maybe some other information is out there, but I would assume at this point, at this moment in time, that information would have been brought to the public’s knowledge at this point.”
Yates has become a figure of note among Democrats after being fired for refusing to implement President Trump’s initial temporary travel ban on people from seven predominantly Muslim countries.
It was later revealed that Yates warned the White House that Flynn had put himself in a “compromise” situation by being untruthful with Vice President Pence and other White House officials about his contacts with Russia.
Yates testified Monday before a Senate subcommittee that Flynn could have been blackmailed by the Russians.
Ingraham has criticized Yates in the past, tweeting Jan. 30 that Yates “deserved” to be fired by Trump.
“You’re fired.” Exactly what Acting AG deserved and probably wanted. She left @realDonaldTrump no choice.

Ingraham is reportedly considering a run against former Hillary Clinton running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), for his seat.
