Dem lawmaker encourages whistleblowers
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) on Saturday encouraged whistleblowers, specifically within President Trump’s administration, to continue sharing leaks with the press.
“Very happy that whistleblowers are telling the American public the truth. Now, more than ever, we need whistleblowers to leak to the press,” Lieu tweeted alongside a link to an Associated Press story about the Trump administration.

Lieu’s comment comes as Trump faces a series of leaks amid the fallout from his firing of FBI Director James Comey.
Behind-the-scenes media reports about the run-up to Trump’s decision have continued to drop since Comey was fired Tuesday. The stories often challenge the narrative shared by White House communications staff.
The Trump White House has struggled to stop leaks to the press, both internally and from from the FBI. In March, officials said employee access to its classified computer system had been limited in an effort to keep information within the White House.
