Kathy Griffin beheads ‘Trump’ in gory photo

Comedian Kathy Griffin is facing backlash on social media after posing for a picture with a bloody, decapitated fake head that resembles President Trump.

The 56-year-old Griffin posed for photographer Tyler Shields for the image, which was first obtained by TMZ.

TMZ also reports that Griffin joked about moving to Mexico out of fear of being imprisoned for the photo.

“Trump’s critics have skewered him for inciting violence with his speech,” reads the TMZ report.

“Tyler and I are not afraid to do images that make noise,” Griffin said in a behind-the-scenes video released Tuesday along with the photo.

Griffin is heard quipping to Shields, “We have to move to Mexico today because we’re going to go to prison.”

Griffin has been an outspoken Trump critic since the president took office, calling him “an idiot” and “so embarrassing” in a March interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on “Hardball.”

“What an idiot. We gotta watch this idiot for an hour and nine minutes? He just says one hateful thing after the other. He’s so embarrassing,” Griffin said, referring to the president’s remarks before a joint session of Congress.

“Just from the beginning, you know, Melania comes in with the sequin jacket and all the white guys are like, ‘Hey she’s hot, maybe if I’m like him I could get her.’ The whole sham from the beginning.”

The German magazine Der Spiegel featured Trump beheading the Statue of Liberty in February.

“Kathy Griffin” began trending on Twitter Tuesday afternoon as news of the photo began spreading.

It’s not the first time Hollywood has created violent scenes involving Trump.

Trump responded in March to a music video featuring Snoop Dogg that showed the rapper shooting a clown dressed as the 45th president.

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Trump’s lawyers argued in April that the president is immune from a lawsuit from three plaintiffs alleging they were removed and roughed up by the then-GOP presidential candidate’s supporters during a 2016 campaign rally.
