Former Obama aide: Ivanka Trump’s reputation will suffer if president withdraws from climate accord

The internal White House fight over whether President Trump should withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate accord could hurt Ivanka Trump’s reputation, according to a former administration official.

Ivanka Trump, one of her father’s closest advisers, has pressed to stay in the climate agreement.

{mosads}”If it turns out that the president withdraws from the Paris agreement, the public reaction will be that Ivanka has no power, that she doesn’t have the president’s ear,” Christy Goldfuss, who worked in President Obama’s administration, said in an interview with The Hill.

“There is no way for her not to have some impact on her reputation and that narrative around her ability to really sway her father,” Goldfuss, who now works at the Center for American Progress, added.
