Scaramucci was once expected to be named the director of the Office of Public Liaison. But after a lengthy review of his business dealings, President Trump passed over Scaramucci and announced his appointment of George Sifakis for the job.
{mosads}Scaramucci previously served as Mitt Romney’s campaign finance co-chairman during Romney’s run for president in 2012. Scaramucci supported Scott Walker and Jeb Bush in the 2016 election, before throwing his support behind Trump.
Scaramucci founded SkyBridge Capital in 2005, which had an estimated $12 billion in assets, according to Business Insider. He then sold the company a few days before Trump’s inauguration in January.
