Obama talks Sudan, Tibet in meeting with Chinese foreign minister
President Obama discussed the human rights situations in Tibet and the Sudan during his meeting Thursday with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, the White House announced.
The president brought up the issue of Tibet as the region marks its 50th year of exile for holy leader the Dalai Lama, despite China’s insistence that Tibet remain an “autonomous region” within the Chinese political system.
