The partisan divide on the economy

This new Gallup poll provides perhaps the clearest picture of the philosophical divide that exists between Republicans and Democrats on how to fix the economy.

The poll shows that Democrats trust the government to fix the economy while Republicans are looking to businesses. It also says that Democrats want the government to do more while Republicans think the government is already doing too much.

Lets to to the charts.

The partisan difference is pretty striking and it shows why Republicans have been up in arms about the stimulus and President Obama’s $3.55 billion budget outline. Yesterday, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) delivered those talking points pretty clearly in an interview on “Fox and Friends.”
