Kennedy to attend healthcare summit

Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) plans to attend President Barack Obama’s healthcare summit on Thursday, the Washington Post reports.

Kennedy, who is currently battling brain cancer, is a significant player in the fight for universal healthcare. He is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.

Yesterday, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced that Kennedy will receive honorary knighthood.
