Three protesters hit by driver in St. Louis: report

A driver in St. Louis reportedly hit three protesters Wednesday.

The protesters — who were hit during a march for a transgender woman killed by police — had minor injuries, said Schron Jackson, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Police Department, in a statement, according to Reuters.

The driver was taken into custody for felony fleeing.

“The protesters surrounded the vehicle and began striking it with their hands and a flag pole. Several protesters also kicked and jumped on top of the vehicle,” police said.

The incident comes after a woman was killed in Charlottesville, Va., when a car drove into a crowd of counterprotesters at a white supremacist rally.
