The musician, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, has been hinting at a possible challenge to Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) in 2018, saying in a post on his website in July that he was “exploring” a run.

Ritchie has been a vocal ally of President Trump, and even visited the White House earlier this year alongside former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and musician Ted Nugent.
