Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci on Friday savaged President Trump’s former chief strategist Stephen Bannon, saying the Breitbart News chief has a “messianic complex” and white nationalist “tendencies.”
Scaramucci, a former Wall Street financier, served as Trump’s communications director for 10 days in July.
Asked on ABC’s “The View” whom he thought was the “most annoying, horrible person in the Oval Office,” Scaramucci chose Bannon and former chief of staff Reince Priebus. But he singled Bannon out for particular criticism.

“His worst quality to me was that he had a little bit of a messianic complex,” Scaramucci said of Bannon.
Scaramucci said that the former chief strategist had gotten mad at him, for example, when he traveled to Davos, Switzerland, earlier this year for the World Economic Forum.
“Because he’s an anti-globalist and he was hitting that economic forum at Breitbart for so many years, that put me in disfavor with him,” Scaramucci recalled. “People that have messianic complexes — they think they’re the answer, they think they’re the solution.”
Scaramucci also said Bannon had white nationalist “tendencies,” pointing to Breitbart as an example of the former chief strategist’s affinity for “white nationalist economic fervor.”
” ‘Is he a white nationalist?’ I would say that he has those tendencies. If you read Breitbart, there’s a lot of that white nationalist economic fervor,” according to Scaramucci.
Scaramucci feuded bitterly with Bannon and Priebus during his short tenure in the White House, railing against both of the former aides in an interview with The New Yorker in July.
Priebus was replaced as chief of staff by John Kelly soon after that interview was published. Kelly is said to have pushed Scaramucci out of the top communications post days later. Bannon departed the White House in August.
