Trump: Jimmy Carter made ’nice remarks’ about me
President Trump thanked former President Jimmy Carter on Saturday for “nice remarks” after Carter said the media is hard on Trump.
“Just read the nice remarks by President Jimmy Carter about me and how badly I am treated by the press (Fake News). Thank you Mr. President!” Trump tweeted.

Carter, a Democrat, said “the media have been harder on Trump than any other president” in an interview with The New York Times last weekend.

Trump has consistently characterized himself as beleaguered by the press.
“No politician in history — and I say this with great surety — has been treated worse or more unfairly” by the media, he said in May.
Trump returned to the theme in an interview with Fox Business Network’s Lou Dobbs this week, saying the press treated him “very unfairly” during the campaign but “got much worse” after he was elected.
Discussing media coverage, Trump said, “I don’t want to be treated good. I just want to be treated fairly.”
He commonly uses the term “fake news” to describe negative press coverage.
