House Democrat slams NRA in wake of Texas shooting

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) on Sunday slammed the National Rifle Association (NRA) for posting a tweet about gun terminology in the wake of reports about a shooting in Texas.

“Thanks, @NRA, for helping us focus on the real issues here, literally minutes after more Americans are massacred,” Moulton wrote on Twitter, quoting a post from the NRA.

{mosads}The tweet Moulton referenced from the NRA included a link to one of its blog posts that details the differences between various gun parts.

“Correct and protect the record. Please help folks get these terms right” the NRA wrote, along with a picture showing a clip compared to a magazine. The tweet has since been deleted.

Brands and large organizations such as the NRA often schedule tweets in advance.

According to reports, multiple people are dead after a shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

President Trump, who is currently in the midst of a five-nation tour of Asia, tweeted that he is monitoring the incident from Japan.
