Actors to join actresses protesting harassment in Hollywood at Golden Globes
A number of actors are expected to join several actresses protesting sexual harassment by wearing black at next month’s Golden Globes.
“YES the men WILL be standing in solidarity with women on this wearing all-black movement to protest against gender inequality at this year’s Golden Globes. At least ALL MY GUYS will be,” celebrity stylist Ilaria Urbinanti wrote last week on Instagram.
Urbananti’s clients include Dwayne Johnson, Tom Hiddleston and Armie Hammer, according to Entertainment Weekly.
People Magazine reported earlier this month that several actresses plan to wear black to the Golden Globes to protest the film and television industry’s culture of sexual harassment.
The rumored list of actresses who will participate includes hosts and nominees, and the protest could reportedly continue throughout the coming awards season.
The protest comes in the wake of numerous sexual misconduct allegations against high-profile politicians and celebrities, including Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K., Dustin Hoffman and others.
