Obama Names Intergovernmental Affairs and Speechwriting Heads

President-elect Barack Obama today named two more officials to his incoming White House team, appointing Cecilia Munoz as director of intergovernmental affairs and Jonathan Favreau as director of speechwriting.

Munoz will oversee coordination between the White House and state and local governments. She currently supervises legislative and advocacy activities at the National Council of La Raza as its senior vice president for its Office of Research, Advocacy, and Legislation.

Favreau worked as Obama’s director of speechwriting during the 2008 presidential campaign. He also worked as deputy director of speechwriting on Sen. John Kerry’s (D-Mass.) 2004 presidential campaign.
