Cardinal Dolan: MLK would remind us today that no country is a ‘hole’
Cardinal Timothy Dolan on Monday marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day, saying the slain civil rights leader would remind people today that “no country is a ‘hole.'”
“Rev. King, my fellow pastor, we miss you more than ever. You so powerfully upheld the dignity of every human person, made in God’s image and likeness,” Dolan, the archbishop of New York, tweeted.
“You would remind us today that no country is a ‘hole,’ no person unworthy of respect.”

{mosads}Dolan has in the past been critical of President Trump.
His tweet comes after President Trump reportedly referred to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “shithole countries” during a meeting at the White House.
Trump has faced widespread backlash for the comments. Some lawmakers have accused Trump of racism.
