Gore Rejects Obama Administration Position

Former Vice President Al Gore will not accept any position in President-elect Barack Obama’s administration, a spokeswoman for Gore told the Washington Times Thursday.

“Former Vice President Gore does not intend to seek or accept any formal position in government,” Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider told the paper. “He feels very strong right now that the best thing for him to do is to build support for the bold changes that we have to make to solve the climate crisis.”

Gore’s name had been entered into speculation for the position of a “climate czar,” playing on his specialty in environmental and climate change issues. Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize and an Academy Award for his work on the matter.
