‘Are We Next’ spray-painted in front of Massachusetts school
The words “Are We Next” were spray-painted in front of a Massachusetts middle school, The Boston Globe reported Tuesday.
The large, orange message reportedly appeared on the sidewalk in front of the entrance to Wellesley Middle School on Tuesday.
Principal Mark Ito told parents in an email that the school was coordinating with the town’s police department and that it was working to remove the message.
{mosads}“Right now, we are settling in for our day. We are communicating with staff and students, and ensuring them of their safety,” Ito wrote, according to a copy of the email obtained by the Globe.
He also asked parents to pass along any information they might have about the incident.

The vandalism took place weeks after the mass shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school that left 17 people dead. Lawmakers have been debating school safety and gun control in the weeks since the shooting.
President Trump has suggested that teachers be armed in an effort to deter would-be school shooters.
GOP lawmakers had initially said that they would introduce school safety legislation that included gun measures, but now plan to vote this week on a package without any gun reform.
