Maxine Waters asks Haley: Why suffer ‘endless humiliation’ with Trump?

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) is asking Nikki Haley why the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations would stay aligned with President Trump and “suffer endless humiliation.”

“Nikki Haley, why are you aligned w/ Trump?” Waters, one of Trump’s most vocal critics, asked in a tweet on Thursday.

“What is it about him that makes you want to suffer endless humiliation? If you are concerned that Larry Kudlow and Trump think you are confused, why are you staying? How can you accept his lies and his policies?”

Kudlow, the top White House economic adviser, said earlier this week that Haley “got ahead of the curve” when she announced additional sanctions on Russia.

{mosads}Haley said Sunday that the Trump administration was slapping new sanctions on Moscow, but the White House walked back her announcement the next day, saying no decision was made yet.

Kudlow told reporters Haley must have been confused.

Haley fired back on Tuesday, saying, “With all due respect, I don’t get confused.”

Kudlow has since apologized for his comments, saying the policy was changed before Haley was notified.

However, the public spat has since fueled speculation about Haley’s political aspirations.

“Clearly she has machinations for higher office and will do anything to continue rising, even if it eventually means throwing President Trump and his administration under the bus,” said one former White House official.
