Comey blasts Giuliani for comparing New York FBI to Nazi ‘stormtroopers’

Former FBI Director James Comey slammed Rudy Giuliani on Thursday after the former New York mayor and current White House lawyer compared the New York FBI to Nazi “stormtroopers.”

Comey in a tweet said the U.S. would be better off if its nations tried to emulate the agents “rather than comparing them to Nazis.”

{mosads}Giuliani made the comments late Wednesday during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity in which he targeted the FBI agents who raided the office and hotel room of President Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. Authorities seized emails, tax documents and records related to Cohen’s payment to adult-film star Stormy Daniels.

“The settlement payment — which is a very regular thing for lawyers to do — the question there was, the only possible violation there would be was it a campaign finance violation? Which usually results in a fine, by the way, not this big stormtroopers coming in and breaking down his apartment and breaking down his office,” Giuliani told Hannity.

“That was money that was paid by his lawyer, the way I would do, out of his law firm funds or whatever funds — it doesn’t matter — and the president reimbursed that over the period of several months,” he continued.

Giuliani revealed in the same interview that  Trump reimbursed Cohen for the payment, even though Trump previously said he was not aware of it. Daniels has said the payment was meant to buy her silence about an affair she says she had with the president.
