Giuliani calls Comey ‘sensitive little baby’ after explosive Fox News interview
Rudy Giuliani, new hire to President Trump’s legal team, took aim at former FBI Director James Comey on Thursday, calling him a “sensitive little baby” in an interview with The Washington Post.
The name-calling follows an explosive interview with Giuliani on Fox News’s “Hannity” Wednesday night in which the former New York City mayor said Trump fired Comey because Comey wouldn’t tell Trump that he wasn’t a target of the FBI investigation into Russia’s 2016 presidential election interference.
“He should be sensitive because he’s been caught lying over and over again,” Giuliani told the Post.
Giuliani fired shots at the FBI during the one-hour Fox News segment, likening the New York bureau officers who raided the home and office of Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, last month to “stormtroopers.”
Comey, a former U.S. attorney in New York, lobbed back a strong defense of the bureau at Giuliani on Twitter.
“I know the New York FBI. There are no ‘stormtroopers’ there; just a group of people devoted to the rule of law and the truth. Our country would be better off if our leaders tried to be like them, rather than comparing them to Nazis,” Comey wrote.

Giuliani also revealed Wednesday that Trump had compensated Cohen for his $130,000 payment to adult-film star Stormy Daniels to stay quiet about their alleged affair. Both Trump and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders have previously denied that the president knew about the payment.
Giuliani joins Trump’s legal team as lawyers from the special counsel communicate with White House attorneys about possible questions Robert Mueller could ask the president in a potential interview.
