Kellyanne Conway’s husband emails anti-Trump writers on how to improve their arguments: report
George Conway, husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, reportedly emails writers who have been critical of President Trump and offers his advice on how to improve their arguments, Politico reports.
Writers told the outlet they received unsolicited emails with suggested improvements from the lawyer.
George Conway has appeared to frequently contradict and criticize the Trump administration in messages to the nearly 50,000 followers on his Twitter account.
{mosads} The outlet reported that his wife’s allies in the White House have been worried about her husband’s tweets.
“I had some angst for her,” said one former official. “My anxiety was that he was putting Kellyanne in a bad spot. But I don’t think it affected her at all. Her standing with the president is rock solid. She’s as loyal as it gets — sometimes to a fault.”
George Conway declined to elaborate on his Twitter account in a direct message to Politico.
“If I wanted to say anything publicly, I would just say it,” George Conway wrote.
Earlier this month, he shared a link to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) rules after it was revealed that Trump reimbursed his personal attorney for the payment Cohen made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels, allegedly in exchange for her silence about an affair she says she had with Trump.
After he retweeted several posts that appeared to mock Trump, George Conway appeared to delete a series of critical posts in March.
George Conway defended his tweets last year and said he still strongly supports Trump but has concerns about the president’s tweets on legal matters.
Kellyanne Conway lashed out at CNN’s Dana Bash in April for asking about her husband’s tweets.
“It’s fascinating to me that CNN would go there, but it’s very good for the whole world to have just witnessed … that it’s now fair game how people’s spouses and significant others may differ with them,” Kellyanne Conway said.
She said her husband was still supportive of the president and accused Bash of trying to “harass and embarrass” her.
