Justin Timberlake visits Texas school shooting survivor in hospital
Singer Justin Timberlake paid a visit to a survivor of the Santa Fe, Texas, school shooting who is in the hospital recovering from emergency surgery.
Timberlake, who was performing in nearby Houston, stopped at the hospital and brought a gift to Sarah Salazar, according to a Facebook post posted by Salazar’s mother.
Salazar is one of at least a dozen people who were injured when a gunman opened fire at Santa Fe High School on May 18. Ten people were killed.
A GoFundMe page for Salazar, which has raised more than $20,000, says she is in intensive care after having emergency surgery.
{mosads}The fundraising page details her multiple injuries, which include a fractured mandible, shattered shoulder and several rib fractures. The page notes that Salazar was “shot from the neck down to her thigh,” and will still require several more surgeries.
“This is the beginning of a long road to recovery,” the page reads.
The 17-year-old suspected gunman, a student at the high school, has been charged with capital murder.
