UK asks Russia to provide details on nerve agent after two more affected

British officials on Thursday urged the Russian government to provide information about a chemical attack earlier this year on a former Russian intelligence agent after two British nationals were afflicted by the same substance last week.

Great Britain has accused Russia of poisoning ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in March. British Security Minister Ben Wallace said he’s still waiting to hear from the Russian government about that attack after two more people were found unconscious in the same area as the previous attack.

“The Russian state could put this ‘wrong’ right. They could tell us what happened, what they did and fill in some of the significant gaps that we are trying to pursue,” Wallace said, according to Reuters.

Dawn Sturgess, 44, and Charlie Rowley, 45, are in critical condition in a Salisbury district hospital after they were found unconscious on Saturday roughly 8 miles from where Skripal and his daughter were attacked.

It is unclear if the two cases are related.

Skripal and his daughter were released from the hospital earlier this year after being exposed to the deadly nerve agent.

Great Britain and the United States have blamed Russia for the attack on the Skripals. Both countries expelled a number of Russian diplomats because of the incident.

Russia has denied involvement and responded by expelling several foreign diplomats from the country.

President Trump is scheduled to travel to Finland next week to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It will be the first formal one-on-one meeting between the two leaders, though they previously spoke during last year’s G-20 summit.
