‘60 Minutes’ executive to ‘stay on vacation’ amid harassment probe

The executive producer of “60 Minutes” will remain on vacation amid an internal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against him.

CNN reported Sunday that Jeff Fager was expected to return to work on Monday, but a CBS spokesman told the network that Fager “has decided to stay on vacation” because an internal investigation is expected to conclude soon.

Fager was implicated in a New Yorker article published last week that detailed allegations of sexual misconduct against CBS CEO Les Moonves.

Employees alleged that Fager made unwanted advances to women at company parties, touched them in inappropriate ways while he was intoxicated and protected men accused of harassment.

Fager, who led the network’s news division from 2011 until 2015, denied the allegations.

CBS said following a board meeting last week that it would appoint an independent investigator to look into the allegations against news division employees, but decided to take no further action.

Moonves and Fager are the latest high-profile individuals to be accused of sexual misconduct since the start of the “Me Too” movement last year. Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose and Louis C.K. are among the prominent media and entertainment figures to be accused of harassment.
