Obamas greeted by screaming fans at Martha’s Vineyard
The Obamas were greeted by screaming fans this week during their summer visit to Martha’s Vineyard.
Barack and Michelle Obama were met with hundreds of fans gathering outside The Cardboard Box restaurant in Oak Bluffs, Mass., as they began to leave.
The former first couple could be seen waving to the group of people before heading into their SUV in videos posted online.
Martha’s Vineyard shared footage of the Obamas greeting the screaming fans before departing.
Martha’s Vineyard is generally regarded as a liberal bastion.
Alan Dershowitz said in a recent opinion piece for The Hill that he has been ostracized by liberals on the elite island after defending some of President Trump’s civil liberties.
The former president’s outing comes days after Obama celebrated his 57th birthday.
Former Vice President Joe Biden took to social media with a selfie of him and Obama to mark the latter’s birthday last Saturday.
The day was also celebrated as the first annual “Barack Obama Day” in Illinois, a statewide commemorative holiday signed into law last year.
