Trump’s lawyers unsure how much McGahn has told Mueller: report
President Trump’s lawyers reportedly aren’t sure what information White House counsel Don McGahn told special counsel Robert Mueller’s team over months of interviews as McGahn cooperated with investigators in the Russia probe.
McGahn’s attorney has “offered only a limited accounting” of what McGahn has told the special counsel, The New York Times reported Sunday. The newspaper reported that Trump’s team is concerned that McGahn might serve as a key witness in a “damning report” from Mueller.

The report made Trump’s lawyers realize they weren’t aware of exactly what McGahn has told the special counsel, according to the Times. The article sent Trump’s lawyers and advisers into a frenzy, leaving Trump to solicit opinions over the weekend “from a small group of advisers on the possible repercussions from the article,” the Times reported Sunday.
William Burck, McGahn’s attorney, provided Trump’s lawyers with a brief overview of McGahn’s initial interview with the special counsel in November but hasn’t told them what McGahn has said in further conversations with the Mueller’s team, according to the newspaper.
The Times’s report Sunday comes after Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s attorney, said on Sunday that he has a “good sense” of what McGahn has told Mueller’s team.
“We have a good sense obviously of what Mr. McGahn testified,” he said. “I can figure it out.”
Trump tweeted multiple times Sunday morning claiming that the Times’s report on Saturday was “fake.”
“The failing @nytimes wrote a Fake piece today implying that because White House Councel Don McGahn was giving hours of testimony to the Special Councel, he must be a John Dean type ‘RAT.’ But I allowed him and all others to testify – I didn’t have to. I have nothing to hide,” he wrote in one tweet.

In another tweet, Trump wrote that the Times’s story “made it seem like the White House Councel had TURNED on the President, when in fact it is just the opposite.”
“The two Fake reporters knew this,” he wrote. “This is why the Fake News Media has become the Enemy of the People. So bad for America!”
