Larry Nassar removed from prison after allegedly being assaulted: report
Former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar has been removed from a federal prison in Arizona and placed in a transfer facility in Oklahoma City, according to Reuters.
The move comes after Nassar’s lawyers alleged last month that he was assaulted by inmates in the Arizona prison. According to Reuters, it isn’t clear where Nassar will be sent following his stay at the transfer facility in Oklahoma City.
The Detroit News reported last month that Nassar’s lawyers claimed he was “physically attacked” in May by other inmates after he was released into the general population of the United States Penitentiary in Tucson, Ariz.

Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison after pleading guilty to criminal sexual misconduct counts earlier this year. In a separate case, he was sentenced to 60 years after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.
Nassar, who also worked at Michigan State University, had been accused of sexually abusing more than 150 women and girls who were under his care.
