READ: Full criminal complaint against suspect charged in mail bombings
Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Friday that mail bombing suspect Cesar Sayoc Jr. has been charged with five federal crimes for sending explosive devices to more than a dozen Democratic political figures, celebrities and news organizations.
{mosads}Sayoc was arrested in Florida earlier Friday and faces up to 48 years in prison, according to Sessions, who said his alleged actions were “unacceptable.”
The charges include interstate transportation of an explosive, illegal mailing of explosives, threats against former presidents and other persons, threatening interstate commerce and assaulting federal officers.
