Fox News host: Comey claiming memory lapses ‘not fair’ to people with real memory problems

Fox News host Harris Faulkner on Monday said that former FBI Director James Comey’s claims of being unable to remember certain details during testimony before House lawmakers is insulting to people with memory issues.

“In all seriousness, for those people who do suffer memory, and I mean this — we have some of it in my family. This really pokes fun at that and it’s not fair if it’s not the real reason he’s not answering questions,” Faulkner said during her show “Outnumbered.”

{mosads}Comey testified last week before the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees.

A transcript of his testimony has since been released, and Republicans have noted that Comey answered a number of questions by saying he didn’t recall or didn’t know the information that lawmakers were seeking.

Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), the incoming ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, suggested to Faulkner on “Outnumbered” that Comey can “take one of those new memory pills.”

“Maybe he’ll go take one of those new memory pills at the nutrition place, I don’t know,” Collins said. “I think the bottom line here is this is a man trying to recreate or cast his own image for the future because he’s not really proud of where he came from.”
