George Conway mocks Trump’s misspellings

George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, on Tuesday joined former acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal in mocking President Trump’s frequent misspellings on Twitter.

Katyal, who previously worked under former President Obama, trolled some of Trump’s most famous spelling errors by asking why Starbucks “cofefe” was always “smocking hot.”

“A special counsel should look into that,” Katyal tweeted.

{mosads}Conway responded by mocking another frequent spelling error of Trump’s — writing special counsel as special “council.”

“You mis-misspelled ‘council.’ The correct misspelling is ‘councel,’” Conway responded.

Trump sent out an unfinished tweet with the phrase “covfefe” last March. It quickly circulated around the world, and a wine blend was even given the name.  

The president also misspelled smoking as “smocking” in a tweet quoting Fox News on Monday, writing that Democrats could not “find a Smocking Gun” connecting his campaign to Russia.

Conway, a self-described conservative, and Katyal, a self-described liberal, have teamed up in the past to challenge Trump.

The pair co-wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post in October rejecting Trump’s assertion that he could do away with birthright citizenship through an executive order. 

Conway, an attorney, frequently shares news articles and opinions on Twitter that are critical of his wife’s boss.

Kellyanne Conway poked fun at the media’s coverage of her husband last month by making her Twitter bio, “The ‘Kellyanne Conway’ in ‘Kellyanne Conway’s Husband.’”
