Tim Cook changes Twitter name after Trump calls him ‘Tim Apple’

Apple CEO Tim Cook on Thursday embraced President Trump misstating his name during a White House meeting the previous day by changing the name on his Twitter profile.

The tech executive’s name on Twitter changed from “Tim Cook” to “Tim” with an Apple logo emoji after Trump called him “Tim Apple” during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday.

The slip-up from Trump came while Cook was attending a meeting with the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board in the State Dining Room at the White House.

{mosads}“I used to say, ‘Tim, you gotta start doing it here,’ and you really have. I mean, you’ve really put a big investment in our country. We really appreciate it very much, Tim Apple,” Trump said.

When Trump said “Tim Apple” after turning away from Cook, the Apple CEO appeared unfazed.

The slip-up drew a slew of jokes on social media, with some pointing out that Trump also used Cook’s name correctly during another part of the meeting.

Last year, Trump made a similar snafu when he introduced Lockheed Martin CEO Marillyn Hewson as “Marillyn Lockheed.”
