Guns N’ Roses sues brewery over ‘Guns ‘N’ Rosé’ beer, merchandise

The rock band Guns N’ Roses is suing a Colorado brewery, claiming it infringed on its trademark after selling beer branded as “Guns ‘N’ Rosé” and other items the band said are linked to singer Axl Rose.

The brewery, Oskar Blues, tried to trademark the beer in 2018, but stopped after Guns N’ Roses protested, according to The Associated Press. The group said in their lawsuit filed Thursday that the brewery still sells the beer and related merchandise.{mosads}

The band has asked for a court order preventing the brewery from using its name, mandating that the items be destroyed, the AP reported. It is also hoping to be given profits from Guns ‘N’ Rosé and other money.

A tweet from the brewery’s Twitter account dating back to November 2018 describes the ale as having the taste of “sticky prickly pear and floral hibiscus with a subtle hop profile.”

Oskar Blues’s marketing director did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment.
