Ocasio-Cortez: If male politicians could get pregnant, there’d be as many Planned Parenthood clinics as post offices
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) implied in a tweet Thursday that if male politicians could become pregnant, there would be more support for abortion rights.
“If male politicians could get pregnant, there would be as many Planned Parenthood clinics as there are Post Offices,” the freshman lawmaker tweeted, citing a tweet by performer Barbra Streisand that said “If these male GOP elected officials could get pregnant, there would be free abortion nationwide.”

Her tweet comes a day after Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) signed legislation that outlaws all abortions except in cases where the mother’s life is in danger. Twitter users have called out the state’s largely white and male lawmakers for their votes to pass the bill.{mosads}
Missouri’s state Senate Thursday passed a bill banning abortions at eight weeks of pregnancy except for in medical emergencies. Several other states have also recently passed or advanced “heartbeat” that would ban abortion as early as six weeks into pregnancy.
