Ohio meteorologist fires back at ‘Bachelorette’ fans upset about tornado interruption
A meteorologist in Ohio lashed out at fans of “The Bachelorette” on Monday after angry viewers flooded social media demanding that a special news broadcast on dangerous tornadoes in the state return to the show.
Speaking live on-air, Fox 45’s Jamie Simpson lectured viewers on the ferocity of the storm and the danger it posed to Dayton, Ohio, and the surrounding area while dismissing calls for the channel to resume broadcasting “The Bachelorette.”
{mosads}“Viewers are complaining already, ‘Just go back to the show.’ No. We’re not going back to the show, folks. This is a dangerous situation, OK? Think about if it was your neighborhood,” Simpson told local viewers.
“I’m sick and tired of people complaining about this. Our job here is to keep people safe and that’s what we’re going to do. Some people complaining that it’s all about my ego — stop. Just stop right now. It’s not. I’m done with you people. I really am,” he continued, adding: “This is pathetic.”
The meteorologist’s warning was echoed by “The Bachelorette” season 15’s star, Hannah Brown, on Twitter, who posted that “naders” — as she called tornadoes — were no joke.
“Lolz too funny, thanks Dayton, Ohio for the love, but be safe. naders are no joke,” Brown tweeted.

Simpson apologized for the harsh tone of his remarks minutes later in the broadcast, while accusing the social media commenters of not caring about their neighbors’ safety.
“Alright. I’m sorry, I did that,” Simpson said. “It just really bothers me that we have people that don’t care about other people’s safety around here. That’s just ridiculous.”
