NBC News launches streaming service

NBC News launched a streaming service offering on Wednesday that includes eight hours of continuous daily programming, the network announced.

NBC News Now “provides a new kind of news product for a rising generation of news consumers,” the network said in a statement. “The service will offer well-informed original news content and deeply journalistic reporting from across NBC News and from additional NBCU partners.”

“There’s nothing more important to the future of NBC News than bringing our content to new audiences, and NBC News NOW is an important piece of that strategy” said Noah Oppenheim, president of NBC News, in the announcement.

The network says the product is free for consumers and is supported by ads.

Content can be watched on NBC News’s website, in the NBC News app, and on NBC News apps on Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

The service comes as other major broadcast news organizations have expanded resources and content to the digital space.
