Brennan slams Trump after ABC interview: Unfit to be president a ‘gross understatement’
Former CIA Director John Brennan lit into President Trump on Wednesday just hours after Trump said he would listen if a foreign government reached out to provide him with dirt on a political opponent.
“This is just the latest example of what Vice President Biden meant when he said that Mr. Trump is an existential threat to our country,” Brennan said in a tweet.
“‘Unfit to be President’ is a gross understatement. @realDonaldTrump is undeserving of any public office, and all Americans should be outraged,” he continued.

Brennan’s remarks came in response to comments Trump made in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.
When pressed in the interview about whether he would alert the FBI or listen if China, Russian or another foreign government tried to give him damaging information about a political opponent, Trump said, “I think maybe you do both.”
“I think you might want to listen. There’s nothing wrong with listening,” the president continued.
{mosads}”If somebody called from a country — Norway — ‘We have information on your opponent,'” Trump said hypothetically, “Oh, I think I’d want to hear it.”
“You want that kind of interference in our elections?” Stephanopoulos asked.
“It’s not an interference. It’s information. I think I’d take it,” he said, adding that if he thought there was “something wrong” then he would “maybe” alert the FBI.
Stephanopoulos also pointed out in the interview that FBI Director Christopher Wray had previously said campaign officials should alert the FBI in the event they are contacted by a foreign body.
“The FBI director is wrong,” Trump said in response.
