Democrats promoting socialism will guarantee Trump’s 2020 reelection
Rather than embracing mainstream, majority-held positions, 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have made it exceedingly clear that they will sacrifice themselves on the altar of the radical left — endorsing positions held by a select few and fueling an unstoppable tailwind behind President Trump’s reelection.
It was a stunning moment to see every Democrat on last week’s debate stage raise their hands in favor of providing free, taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants. Likewise, there was an “almost unanimous embrace by the top-polling candidates for decriminalizing illegal border crossings,” as noted by the New York Times.
The bizarre policy endorsements are made all the more puzzling in the context of public polling; 74 percent recognize the crisis at our southern border and an almost equal 76 percent want border security, while 70 percent want “stricter enforcement of immigration laws” in response.
Nevertheless, the 2020 Democratic candidates are rejecting the will of these majorities and siding instead with a small handful in advocating for open borders, decriminalizing illegal border crossings, and even incentivizing these crossings with the promise of free health care.
As America faces an undeniable security and humanitarian crisis on our southern border, public concern about immigration now ranks as “the highest Gallup has ever measured for the issue since it first began recording mentions of immigration in 1993.”
This, however, seems of no moment to Democrats, who have broken even with President Obama once telling potential illegal immigrants: “(Do) not send your children to the borders. If they do make it, they’ll get sent back.”
In a befuddling contrast, 2020 Democrats seek to deprive nearly 200 million Americans of their private health insurance while providing millions of illegal immigrants with free health care.
Again, public polling tells the story, as 59 percent oppose the government making free health care available to illegal immigrants — a move that would “likely [cost] hundreds of billions” of taxpayer dollars, according to experts.
Meanwhile, a new CNN poll reveals that 57 percent oppose a health care system that would get rid of private health insurance. Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), however, openly support taking private health care from nearly 200 million Americans, while other Democrats support policies with this inevitable effect.
The Democrats’ radicalism does not end with illegal immigration and health care. It extends into other aspects of their policy platforms.
Consider abortion: Though Democrats once advocated for “safe, legal, and rare abortion” with restrictions, they now support abortion with no limits. As LifeNews accurately notes, “None of the leading [Democratic] contenders — including Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Joe Biden, or Elizabeth Warren — have said they support any restrictions on abortion.”
These Democratic contenders stand proudly by the abysmally low 6 percent of Americans who think abortion should be permitted “up until the birth of the child.”
To make matters worse, the “prominent Democratic 2020 presidential hopefuls in the Senate voted down” the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act, which requires health care providers to give care to children born alive and in need of medical treatment, according to Fox.
Perhaps they are just following in the footsteps of Gov. Ralph Northam (D-Va.), who advocated for infanticide, saying this about a child with deformities after delivery: “The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.” Appalling.
Indeed, the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates stand in fervent opposition to the positions of mainstream Americans. They prioritize illegal immigrants above American citizens. They want to open our borders and abolish our private health care. Worst of all, they have eliminated the rights of the most vulnerable among us — completely viable, fully formed infants, unable to make a case for themselves.
But as they march forward under the flag of radical leftist government takeovers, they do so at their own peril — because the altar of the far left has few adherents among mainstream Americans.
