Obama celebrates July 4: ‘A great day in the Obama family’
As the nation celebrates America’s 243rd birthday, the former first family is celebrating another: Malia Obama’s 21st birthday.
Former President Obama tweeted Thursday morning to mark the family’s, and nation’s, special day.{mosads}
“Happy Fourth of July, everybody! This is always a great day in the Obama family: a chance to celebrate America—and Malia’s birthday, too. Hope all of you are able to get some time with friends, family, and fireworks,” Obama tweeted.

Obama’s eldest daughter spent eight birthdays in the White House, and was just 10 years old when her father was first elected to the presidency.
After interning for television studios, Malia Obama started college at Harvard University, where she just finished up her second year.
Others joined in wishing Malia Obama a happy birthday, with the hashtags #HappyBirthdayMalia and #MaliaObamaDay.
