White House holds press briefing: Watch live

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a media briefing alongside national security adviser Jake Sullivan Tuesday afternoon.

The White House is facing a reconvening Congress that is still divided on how, or even if, aid to Ukraine will continue. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky voiced Sunday what he sees as a stark reality: His country’s fight against the Russian invasion hinges on U.S. support.

He doubled down on that sentiment Tuesday.

President Biden, who spoke about the care economy earlier, is also expected to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ahead of a state dinner planned for Wednesday evening.

Jean-Pierre is scheduled to begin the briefing at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
