George W. Bush to host Dallas fundraiser for GOP Pennsylvania Senate hopeful

Former President George W. Bush is hosting a fundraiser in Dallas next week for Republican Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick.

The invitation, posted online by reporter Ryan Hernandez, is offering two paid events for guests — a VIP roundtable event that will cost $24,500 per person and a reception at $3,300 a person.

Along with Bush, billionaire Harlan Crow and republican strategist Karl Rove will be in attendance, among others.

McCormick and Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) are the only two candidates who will appear on the Pennsylvania Senate ballot, the state’s highest court ruled recently.

The ruling booted several other challengers from appearing on the ballot and cleared the way for a match-up between Casey, the incumbent, and McCormick, a former hedge fund CEO, in the April 23 primary.

Casey led McCormick in polls earlier this year by a comfortable margin. McCormick ran for Senate in 2022 but lost the Republican nomination to Mehmet Oz.

The Associated Press reported the Pennsylvania Senate race is likely going to be one of the most expensive and closely watched races this year as Democrats attempt to defend their majority in the Senate.

Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state, will help determine whether Democrats will maintain their majority in the Senate and reelect President Biden.

According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Casey leads McCormick in a Wednesday poll. Casey has 45.7 percent support, while McCormick has 37 percent.
