Biden wins Kentucky Democratic primary
President Biden has won the Kentucky Democratic presidential primary, according to Decision Desk HQ.
Biden’s win in the Bluegrass State will net him at least most of the state’s 53 pledged delegates up for grabs. He has already been the presumptive nominee for the Democratic Party since clinching enough delegates in March.
He was the only active major candidate on the ballot, which also included author Marianne Williamson. Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), who dropped out and endorsed Biden, was also on the ballot.
Voters could select “uncommitted” instead of any of the candidates, as some voters have done in various states to protest the Biden administration’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas. The effort to get voters to cast a ballot for uncommitted as a protest against Biden has seen some moderate success in states such as Michigan and Minnesota.
