Woman who climbed into lion exhibit at Bronx Zoo arrested
A woman was arrested Wednesday night and charged with breaking into the Bronx Zoo’s lion enclosure.
Spectrum News affiliate NY 1 reported Thursday that Myah Autry was arrested Wednesday night outside of Barclays Center and is due in court Thursday morning.
{mosads}Autry made her first comments about the incident at a press conference outside a New Jersey courthouse last week following her court appearance for a shoplifting charge, according to NBC 4 New York.
“I fear nobody. No animal, no human, no one. So no, I wasn’t fearing of the lion because the lion loved me. That’s why he came to me and I let the lion know: Lion, I love you,” she said of her encounter with the lion, which was caught on video.
“I am the lion now. Can’t you tell? Have you ever heard of reincarnation? Do your history young man!” she instructed one reporter at the presser. “Do your history, it’s called reincarnation. I am the lion now.”
Autry faces a criminal trespassing charge for the incident at the Bronx Zoo. It was unclear Thursday how she planned to plea.
