Netflix planning 2 ‘experience houses’ in Texas, Pennsylvania

Netflix is planning to roll out what it is calling two “experience houses” next year, the company announced Tuesday.

The first two locations will open at King of Prussia in Pennsylvania and Galleria Dallas in 2025, the streamer said. It called the locations two “experiential entertainment venues that will bring some of our most beloved titles to life.”

“Imagine waltzing with your partner to an orchestral cover of a Taylor Swift song on a replica of the ‘Bridgerton’ set –– and then walking around the corner to compete in the Glass Bridge challenge from ‘Squid Game,'” the company wrote in a release promoting its plans.

The streamer selected the locations in Texas and Pennsylvania “because they are part of two of the most popular shopping centers in America, boasting hundreds of retailers, high foot traffic, and proximity to major cities,” it said.

Both houses will occupy former department store locations and span more than 100,000 square feet.

Netflix has made a major push into live events and user experiences in recent months, with more growth planned as the company takes legacy media brands and other streamers head on for audience share.

The Silicon Valley giant earlier this year inked a multibillion dollar deal with the NFL to show games on Christmas Day, a watershed moment for the company illustrating its continued investment in the media and live events space.
