Ron Johnson says Biden campaign ‘toast’ after losing media

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said Friday that President Biden’s campaign is “toast” after losing the media.

“Democrats have a real problem, any Democrat has a real problem —if you lose the media, and Biden lost the media, overnight, after that debate,” Johnson said on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” to host Will Cain. “It’s pretty difficult because Democrats can lie, they can enact policies that are disastrous to this country, but as long as the media’s on their side covering up for ‘em, they can survive.

“The minute they lose the media, they really are toast,” Johnson continued.

Biden has faced a little over a week of anxiety among Democrats in the aftermath of a shaky debate performance last Thursday. Biden sounded raspy and stumbled over his words during the CNN debate, which set off questions among Democrats as to whether he should remain the party’s candidate.

“He has the nomination, he has the votes,” Johnson said in his Fox News appearance of Biden. “He’s gonna be difficult to, again, replace, if he wants to stay in there.”

When it came to the subject of if he could be convinced to leave the presidential race, Biden said in an interview on ABC Friday that “if the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race. The Lord Almighty’s not comin’ down.”

Biden and his allies have been insistent he is not dropping out, even with four House Democrats now calling on him to exit the race. In a fundraising email sent earlier this week Biden said nobody is “is pushing” him “out.”

“I’m the Democratic Party’s nominee,” the fundraising email read. “No one is pushing me out. I’m not leaving, I’m in this race to the end, and WE are going to win this election. If that’s all you need to hear, pitch in a few bucks to help [Vice President Harris] and me defeat Donald Trump in November.”
