Biden COVID symptoms ‘almost resolved completely,’ doctor says
President Biden’s COVID-19 symptoms are nearly resolved, his doctor said Monday.
The president took his 10th dose of Paxlovid on Monday morning and his doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said in a letter that “his symptoms have almost resolved completely.”
O’Connor also said Biden’s pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature are normal, his oxygen saturation is “excellent” and his lungs remain clear.
Biden tested positive for COVID-19 while campaigning in Las Vegas on Wednesday. He has been isolating at his Rehoboth, Del., home since.
O’Connor on Monday reiterated that Biden “continues to perform all of his presidential duties” while he is in Rehoboth and that he will keep the White House updated on changes to the president’s condition.
While isolating with COVID-19, the president announced Sunday he would drop out of the 2024 race, and he endorsed Vice President Harris to lead the Democratic ticket.
Harris on Monday led an event at the White House to celebrate the NCAA championship teams from last season, an event Biden was not able to attend with COVID-19.
Biden this week is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but the White House has not announced plans for him to return to Washington.
