How to watch President Biden, Hillary Clinton at convention Day 1
The Democratic National Convention begins Monday, with hundreds of delegates, political figures and journalists descending on Chicago for the four-day event.
President Biden will deliver the Monday night keynote address at 10:45 p.m. EDT.
First lady Jill Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party’s 2016 nominee, are also expected to speak Monday evening along with United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.).
Here’s how to watch Day 1 of the convention:
When and where is the convention taking place?
The convention, beginning Monday, will run through Thursday. Events will be held at both the United Center in Chicago, where speeches and other evening events will take place, and McCormick Center, where official party business and meetings will take place.
Where will the convention be livestreamed?
The convention will be streamed via The Hill beginning at 6:15 p.m. EDT, and on the convention’s website and its YouTube and X accounts.
More than a dozen other platforms will also stream the convention, and organizers said they will also have vertical streams across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube to make the event more accessible on mobile devices, according to The Associated Press.
English and Spanish versions of the streams will be available, along with American Sign Language interpretation and an audio-description service.
C-SPAN will also provide coverage outside of prime time on its network channel, C-SPAN.org and the C-SPAN Now App.
Media outlets, both local and national, are expected to stream any happenings on the floor. The actual space is blocked off from the public and is only available to delegates, officials, volunteers and credentialed media.
Which networks will carry the convention?
Several networks will carry the convention’s prime-time programming, during which Biden’s and Clinton’s speeches will take place.
NewsNation will also present special coverage of the convention. A special edition of “On Balance with Leland Vittert” will air during its usual time slot at 7 p.m. EDT, followed by special prime-time coverage titled “Decision Desk 2024: The Democratic National Convention” from 8 p.m. EDT to 12 a.m.
Additionally, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News and CBS News have all announced special coverage plans to cover Monday night’s events, along with those for the rest of the convention.
NewsNation is owned by Nexstar Media Group, which also owns The Hill.
